Look out for pest caterpillar species actively feeding on young plants during the autumn season.

Early-season crop establishment is a critical time to monitor for chewing damage from caterpillar pests such as cutworm, webworm, brown pasture looper, cabbage moth and native budworm.

Regular paddock checks help identify pest activity early, assess whether the crop is outgrowing the damage, and determine whether control is warranted.
