BridgePro is proud to be involved in plans to upgrade and recommission the Mersey slipway, bringing it back into use for work barges and fishing vessels.

As a Tasmanian business based in Latrobe, it’s particularly rewarding to contribute to a project close to home, supporting our local maritime industry.

Old slipways are everywhere in Tassie! We're going to give the old Mersey slipway a bit of TLC.

Plans are in place to upgrade and recommission the site for more work barges and fishing vessels.

We’re looking for experienced Piling Rig Operators to join our Tasmanian team.

You’ll operate our own fleet of Soilmec and Enteco rotary drilling rigs across bored piling, CFA and hard-rock drilling projects throughout Tasmania.

As a Tasmanian-owned and operated contractor, we have the specialist capability to take on work others can’t. You’ll have experienced ground crews, engineering expertise and specialist equipment behind you to deliver complex projects properly.

We’re looking for proven piling or large drilling rig experience, relevant competencies or VOCs, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Experience operating Soilmec, Enteco or similar equipment will be highly regarded.

Exciting news for BridgePro and the Devonport community!

We’re proud to be progressing the redevelopment of the Mersey Slipway, with plans to reopen the facility in early 2027.

Once complete, it will become one of southern Australia’s largest slipways and working yards, supporting Tasmania’s tug, fishing and aquaculture fleets and creating new opportunities for our region.

We look forward to bringing this important marine facility back into service and being part of its next chapter.

After more than 11 years with BridgePro, today we farewell Design Engineer Tom Wazny as he prepares for his next chapter in Hobart.

Tom joined BridgePro as a Graduate Engineer in February 2015, initially working primarily in drafting. Over the years, he gained valuable site experience and became extensively involved in the engineering design of temporary works and permanent structures, developing into a highly capable and well-rounded engineer.

Of the countless projects Tom has contributed to, the Devonport Tug Berth is a particular source of pride an effective engineering solution that received positive feedback from stakeholders at every level.

The Seaport Pedestrian Bridge is another standout, both for its aesthetics and the challenges of constructing it “the old-school way”. Limited resources and smaller cranes required innovative thinking from the team to bring the project to life.

Reflecting on his time at BridgePro, Tom said:

“There are a lot of great people who have taught me a lot about how to fabricate and build things and helped me become a better, more well-rounded engineer. I’m really thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given at BridgePro, and I wish everyone all the best.”

Tom, thank you for your dedication, technical expertise and significant contribution to BridgePro over the past 11½ years. You have played an important role in many of our projects and in strengthening our engineering capability.

We wish you every success and happiness in Hobart. You will be greatly missed by the entire BridgePro team.
