The first bathroom at Hill St is nearly complete and it's safe to say this space has come together beautifully.

Working alongside Symmetrie Interior Design + Styling Studio, we've transformed this bathroom into a space that is both functional and full of personality. Our sub-contractors have absolutely outdone themselves on this one!

Frederick St has definitely kept us on our toes.

One of the biggest challenges we uncovered during this renovation was along the boundary wall of the property. The original double brick wall had sunk over time due to the weight of the structure, combined with the conditions of the site being located in the CBD near low-lying water.

To rectify the issue, we needed to carefully demolish the existing wall, reconstruct a new lightweight fire-rated wall to protect the neighbouring property, re-support sections of flooring and completely redo the foundations.

It’s a good reminder that with renovations, especially in older homes, there can often be unforeseen issues hiding beneath the surface that simply can’t be seen during the initial quoting and estimating stage.

While these challenges can add unexpected costs and time, they’re also a key part of restoring these homes properly and ensuring they’re built to last for years to come.
