Horizontal Directional Driller Wanted!

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced horizontal directional driller to join our team based in Kings Meadows and servicing right across Northern Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate HDD rigs (Vermeer D24x40, Ditch Witch JT10, Toro DD4045)
• Interpret DBYD and service locate plans and safely expose all services
• Plan bore paths, set up drill sites, mix and manage drilling mud
• Maintain accurate documentation (pre-starts, JHAs, bore logs, dig permits)
• Take responsibility for equipment condition, safe operation and quality of work
• Lead by example with a proactive safety-first attitude and asset protection mindset

We’re looking for people who are:
• Experienced in HDD operation and tracking systems
• Technically strong, with demonstrated hands-on HDD experience
• Safety-conscious, with a “zero asset strike” mindset and strong understanding of underground service protection
• Physically fit and dependable, with a can-do attitude and pride in their work
• Able to work both unsupervised and as part of a coordinated team

You will need:
• Construction White Card
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence (HR desirable)
• Relevant licences

Experience in utilities installation, civil construction and/or plant operation will be viewed favorably.

Essential Requirements (both roles):
• Drivers Licence (MR, HR or HC preferred)
• White Card
• An understanding of and commitment to safety in the workplace
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to adapt to dynamic work environments

Essential Requirements (Excavator Operator)
• Demonstrated previous experience with excavator operation

Desirable:
• Plant and equipment experience and/or licences (excavator, telehandler, forklift, loader)

• First Aid / CPR
