Quick one for the acreage crowd around the Hunter.
Got a boundary fence that's more lean than fence these days? You usually don't have to cop the whole bill.
Under the NSW Dividing Fences Act, you and the neighbour generally split the cost of a basic dividing fence down the middle. Fair's fair.
How it normally goes:
Get a written quote
Hand it to the neighbour
Agree on the split
Fence goes up
If the neighbour's got their heart set on something flasher than a standard rural fence, the extra's on them.
And if they won't come to the table, there's a formal notice process through the Act. But most people sort it out over the fence (the old one, while it's still standing) with a quote in hand.
We do written quotes you can hand straight over the boundary. Give Joel a bell on 0429 498 627.
