Our trees have had a tough dry season.

The prolonged dry conditions around Logan and Brisbane have been noticeable in many of the trees we’ve been working around lately. We’re seeing signs such as:

Wilted or stressed foliage
Yellowing or chlorotic leaves
Canopy dieback
Increased deadwood
Generally reduced vitality and slower growth

Extended dry conditions can place trees under additional stress. Dead or weakened branches become particularly relevant once summer storms, strong winds and heavy rainfall arrive.

Here's how to prepare your trees for storm season: https://bit.ly/4jFY27h

Mature Eucalypts are an important part of our landscape, but when they grow around buildings, pathways and high-use areas, proactive management is key.

Good arboricultural management can include selective pruning of lower or overextended branches, deadwood removal, and careful canopy balancing.

Done correctly, this can help to:

• Improve clearance around buildings and infrastructure
• Remove dead or compromised branches
• Improve structure and balance
• Reduce weight and leverage where required
• Retain and protect valuable mature trees, while managing their interaction with the surrounding site

The goal isn’t to simply cut trees back, but to make informed decisions that balance the health, structure and site requirements.
