A compact shed that makes the most of every bit of available space 🤍

This fully insulated 4m × 6m shed was finished entirely in Dover White and features:

• 2.6m eaves
• 10-degree roof pitch
• Two 2025mm high × 2415mm wide roller doors - creating drive-through access
• PA door
• Two windows
• Two whirlybirds

Fun fact: this one required town planning approval for two reasons - for it to be positioned as far forward on the property as possible, while also taking the property’s total roof coverage over 50%.

Because of the property’s unique position with no frontage to a public street and no impact on vehicle or pedestrian traffic the application worked in our client’s favour, and they received the outcome they were hoping for 🙌

Introducing The Signature Range 🔨

We don’t believe in one-size fits all sheds - but sometimes you just want to see a proven design, say “Yep, that’s the one,” and get the quote moving.

The Signature Range features some of our most popular completed designs, each with its own name and specifications.

First up: The Blackwood - a seriously good looking 7 × 7 drive-through shed with plenty of height and easy access.

This particular shed required town planning approval due to its height within the relaxation zone.
The oversized roller doors are chain-driven and do not have external handles, so the PA door provides essential access if motors aren’t installed or the power goes out.

What’s the Difference Between Building Approval and Town Planning Approval? 🤔

They’re not the same thing!

🏡 Town Planning Approval
Is an application to Council that looks at where your shed is being placed and how it may affect the surrounding area. This can include things such as:

✔️ Boundary setbacks
✔️ Impacts on neighbouring properties
✔️ Visual appearance and streetscape
✔️ Obstructions to views or access
✔️ Property zoning and overlays

📐 Building Approval
Looks at how your shed is built and ensures it complies with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code. This does get archived with Council but isn’t the same as Town Planning. This includes:

✔️ Engineering
✔️ Wind ratings
✔️ Structural integrity

Depending on your property and project, you may not need both.

Understanding the difference early can help avoid costly delays and redesigns down the track.
