What we did:

• Spot treated the active nest in the stump
• Installed a full chemical barrier around the entire property
• Protected all steel piers and entry points
• Confirmed no internal activity — caught just in time

Active termites discovered in an old steel container conversion that’s been turned into a house.

Even steel structures aren’t safe when timber framing, flooring, cladding or fit-outs are involved — termites will still find and destroy the wood sections if conditions are right.

Luckily nobody is living there, which means treatment and repairs can happen before the damage gets worse.

Signs to watch for:
• Mud tubes/leads
• Hollow sounding timber
• Moisture issues
• Timber touching soil
• Swollen or damaged wood

If you suspect termite activity, don’t disturb them or spray random insecticides, as this can spread the colony and make treatment harder.
