🏆 It's official — The Best Deck Builder in the City of Maribyrnong, 2026

Earlier this month we shared that the Quality Business Awards had named PBS Carpentry the 2026 winner for deck builders in the City of Maribyrnong. The official certificate has now come through, and we're proud to share it.

The award recognises an overall quality rating of 95% or higher, rated across satisfaction, services, reputation and quality. It's built on what our customers have said about the work — which is why it means so much to the whole team.

Decks are where the craft shows:

✔ Frames checked, and rebuilt where the timber has given way
✔ Boards laid straight, fixed down and finished clean at the edges
✔ Steps, fascias and curved seating cut to fit, not forced
✔ The site left tidy at the end of every day

Thank you to every homeowner across Maribyrnong and Melbourne's west who has trusted us with their place.

🔨 Gable fascia, architraves and weatherboard renewal

Years of Melbourne weather had worn this side of the house right down. The paint was lifting, the timber was weathered through, and the decorative gable work was falling apart.

We stripped off the failing timber, including the gable fascia, the decorative pieces up at the peak, the window architraves and the worst of the weatherboards. Every piece went back in new treated timber.

✔ Gable fascia removed and replaced
✔ Decorative gable pieces renewed at height
✔ Window architraves replaced
✔ Weatherboards replaced
✔ All new work in treated timber

The result is solid new timber where the old was failing, and a front that looks cared for again.

🔨 Backyard pergola rebuild

The old pergola out the back of this home had rotted through. The catch? Two mature trees had grown up and wrapped themselves right through the frame.

So this one couldn't just come down. The trees were propped up and supported while the rotted timber was taken out around them, then every beam was replaced with new timber, built back in around the branches.

✔ Rotted pergola carefully removed
✔ Wrap-around trees propped and kept in place
✔ All-new beams installed
✔ Whole structure repainted
✔ New floodlight fitted

The result is a solid new frame, the trees still standing, and a backyard that's ready for the warmer months.
