DAM CONTAMINATION ALERT – FIRE & RAIN RUNOFF

To everyone dealing with contaminated dams following the recent fires and rain: Please bear with me!
I am in the workshop this morning fabricating a custom attachment designed to skim the layer of black silt off the surface of your dams. While I can’t guarantee it will fully save the water supply, it’s a proactive step to minimize the impact and prevent further contamination.

Unfortunately the owner of the property didn't get to his flush tee in time before rain last week and now has ruined there water storage. The smell of stagnant/retardant and smokey flavoured water apparently is a problem, as much as some may tell themselves " it will settle". 😂

50,000 litres put to irrigation use at a rapid rate. Thanks to the Mansfield Pump Shop for supplying the trusty equipment.

ATTENTION WATER TANK FAMILY!

Hello everyone, this might be a little long winded but please read through if you have water tanks and rely on your tanks for fresh water.

In light of the current devastating fire situation so close to home, I have had
- calls for properties with smelly water in there water tanks.
- worried about there water quality coming through to the house.
- tank liners damaged.

Unfortunately this isn't going to get better unless we do something about it.

Over in Merton, yarck ,Alexandra and Thorton areas and more are areas affected the most, I'm doing my best to get to you as soon as I'm allowed to come across.

Today I went and spoke with police about trying to get myself over to help service these areas to get your rain water catchment areas cleaned up and get fresh drinking water again with the help from
- John davie's water cartage,
- Glen from high country water cartage
- Greg Rennie from Alexandra.

We also have the issue of the FIRE RETARDANT. THIS WILL cause major issues for your catchment system.

Back when we had fires around Mansfield area a few years back. It taught me alot about water quality and catchment systems. one of the main things I learnt is:
The fire retardant isn't good for your consumption and we need to knock it on the head before it goes into your tanks. (If possible)

Rest assured I will be there to help before or after it does. I am only a one man show and will do my best to help everyone has promptly as possible.

The info listed below is what I will be aiming to achieve for everyone in the area effected by contamination. Below is what I know needs to be completed to have a fail safe fresh water catchment system again and will be what need to be completed to achieve this.

- inspect your catchment system
- pressure washing your roof.
- cleaning out your gutters.
- desludge your storm water systems.
- install flush tees on the inlet to your charged systems
- desludge your tank. And for worst case scenario
- pump out and rejuvenate your water supply with help from out local legends of water cartage.

Any help along the way will be great if you have someone that is able to do the pressure washing and gutter clean out prior to my arrival.
