Winter in Florida. Summer in Michigan. Same RV for fifteen years. Two TV setups, two monthly bills, two sets of frustrations 🚐
Florida: a satellite dish bolted to the lot. $80 a month, even during the six months the rig sat empty.
Michigan: park WiFi, which worked some weeks and dropped for days the rest.
A neighbor at the Michigan park ran a small antenna in his rig. Mentioned over-the-air broadcast on a Sunday morning, both of us drinking coffee on the patio ☕️
Tried one in the 12V TV the same afternoon. Three-minute scan in Michigan: 78 HD channels including a clearer NBC affiliate than the satellite ever pulled. Cancelled the satellite contract by phone the next week.
First Sunday back in Florida this November, the antenna scanned in 82 channels off the local towers. Watched the local game from the lot.
Same antenna. Both states. The setup hasn't changed once between trips 📡
