Not every lift modernisation is straightforward - and this one definitely kept things interesting! ⚙️🧩

Working with Elevator Consultancy Service (ECS), our team delivered a lift upgrade at 8 Brisbane Avenue in Canberra, including a rare inverted-machine configuration that required careful planning and problem-solving.

The result? Better reliability, smoother ride comfort and extended asset life for the building.

Julie Reynolds provides the closing insights for our International Women’s Day series, drawing attention to the critical findings of the 2024 Global Gender Gap Report which reveals we're far from achieving gender equality.

Instead of just celebrating, she asks us to pause and reflect. Why aren't we further ahead? What can we do differently?

She believes that is a chance to look at our own contributions – at our team, organisation, and industry levels to truly understand the gap and the steps needed to .

She is proud that KONE is using this day to honestly assess its progress and identify concrete steps that will change this reality, demonstrating its commitment to an inclusive, growth-oriented environment for all.

Meet Garreth Ciorovich from our New Zealand team. When we asked him about men's role in accelerating gender equality in construction, his answer was deeply personal.

Garreth says that gender equality in the workplace reminds him of the women who inspire him daily – his family.

He envisions them on a construction site: treated with fairness, provided with inclusive facilities and tools, and met with the same respect he'd offer them. This vision isn't just a dream; it's a call to action 🤝

Garreth praises KONE for its work to and his male colleagues for their active allyship. He urges everyone to help build a construction industry where we can all thrive.
