Another solar-ready home charging setup completed in Wallan ⚡️

We supplied and installed a black myenergi Zappi 7kW single-phase EV charger for a Volvo C40, integrated alongside the property’s existing solar and Sky Energy battery system.

For this home, the Zappi was selected to give the customer greater control over how the vehicle charges - including the ability to prioritise available excess solar and help minimise unnecessary battery discharge where the system configuration allows.

Installation included:

Mitcham EV charger installation completed properly ⚡

This myenergi Zappi installation was completed for a residential customer in Mitcham with an existing solar and battery setup.

The charger was mounted on the carport structure in a practical location for daily charging, with the cable route run neatly through surface-mounted conduit and secured across the structure to maintain a clean, protected installation pathway.

This job included:

• myenergi Zappi 7kW single-phase EV charger
• dedicated EV charging circuit
• 32A EV charging circuit protection
• solar-aware CT monitoring setup where suitable
• surface-mounted conduit and mechanical cable protection
• weather-exposed installation considerations

The Zappi was selected because it supports multiple charging modes, including Fast, Eco and Eco+, allowing the customer to charge from grid, solar-assisted charging, or excess solar depending on how their solar/battery system is operating.

With solar and battery homes, the installation is not just about mounting a charger on the wall. The circuit protection, cable route, CT positioning, charger configuration and inverter/battery behaviour all need to be considered properly.

GoodWe EV charger installation completed in Altona North ⚡

This installation was completed for a BMW iX2 owner with an existing GoodWe solar and battery setup.

The customer wanted the right charger for their system, so we supplied and installed the GoodWe 7kW HCA G2 single-phase EV charger, allowing the charger to work alongside the existing GoodWe ecosystem where supported.

This job included:

⚡ GoodWe 7kW EV charger supply and installation
⚡ Dedicated EV charging circuit
⚡ Required EV circuit protection
⚡ Communications cabling back to the GoodWe inverter/battery setup
⚡ Dynamic load management setup where supported

The charger was installed neatly inside the garage, close to the existing GoodWe equipment, keeping everything clean, practical and easy to use.

Residential Zappi EV charger installation completed in Seaford.

Aether Installations supplied and installed a myenergi Zappi 7kW single-phase tethered EV charger inside a detached brick garage, positioned near the existing SolarEdge inverter and home battery setup.

This installation included:

• Dedicated EV charging circuit from the main switchboard area
• Overhead cable/conduit run between the house and detached garage
• Weatherproof enclosure/sub-board allowance where required
• Single-phase RCBO/RCD protection
• Zappi charger mounting inside the garage
• CT monitoring setup where suitable
• Solar-aware charging configuration where possible
• Testing, commissioning and Certificate of Electrical Safety

The customer had a 6.6kW SolarEdge solar system, large home battery setup and a power plan with free electricity between 11am–3pm, so the charging setup needed to be planned properly around solar use, battery behaviour and scheduled charging.

A Zappi is a strong option for homes wanting smarter charging control, especially where excess solar charging is a priority. But the final setup still needs to be assessed correctly - including switchboard capacity, cable route, CT placement, battery behaviour and charger location.

This one was a clean residential install with a detached garage, overhead pathway and solar-aware charging setup.

Apartment EV charger installation completed in Kew.

This project involved the supply and installation of a black Ocular IQ Home 7kW socket charger for a strata apartment parking bay in a shared basement car park.

The installation included:

• Dedicated single-phase EV charging circuit from the apartment supply
• Required RCBO/RCD protection
• Basement conduit pathway
• Charger mounted to a concrete pillar beside the allocated parking bay
• Final connection, testing and commissioning
• Certificate of Electrical Safety

Apartment EV charger installations need to be scoped properly. It is not just about mounting a charger on a wall.

The supply point, group metering board, cable route, common property, fire penetrations, parking bay location and building requirements all need to be considered before installation.
