Sometimes you pull a fence down and get a nice surprise.

Hidden under the old fence was a retaining wall and once we could see what we were working with, everything fell into place.

The client wanted the palings flipped to the new side and with the way the boundary sits, we could make it work exactly how he wanted and keep it right on the boundary.

A good result all round.

Can you paint a paling fence? Yes - but timing is everything.
Fresh timber needs to dry out properly before you paint it. Do it too soon and you risk peeling, warping and long-term damage to the timber.
Get the timing wrong and you'll be dealing with problems that didn't need to happen.

Which meant plenty of barking at “mystery noises” on the other side of the fence.
So we built him his own custom dog window 🐾
Secure, simple and now he can sit there watching the world go by all day.
