Decking steel fascia - How we did it
Got a few questions on how we did this black steel fascia on the deck.
The problem:
- no visible fixings
- steel to be flush with decking boards
The solution:
- framing the substrate with droppers as you normally would.
- custom machine rolled the curve, I didn’t like the chances of curving 5mm thick gal sheet on site. Could have maybe done it but I think the steel would have bended where the path of least resistance was and not giving a uniform flowing curve.
- clamped the steel straight to the timber frame with a generous splash of sika flex FC11
- bottom of steel is help by 8g button head screw in the bottom as the mulch would cover it.
Came out looking great for a relatively low cost to put together.
Intreated to know how others have done it before?
