Here are some before, during and after photo's of another recent Switchboard Upgrade we completed. This one didn't have the old ceramic fuses but it did have only one Safety Switch protecting eleven circuits (this should be a maximum of three Circuits), and there were two circuits which weren't protected at all. The Switchboard was also full, with no capacity to add any new circuits if required. In order to bring this Switchboard in line with the current regulatory standards, we removed the single Safety Switch and replaced the existing Circuit Breakers with Safety Switch/Circuit Breaker Combinations (also known as RCBO's). All of the Circuits are now protected and there is space for two new circuits if required. Having each Circuit on its own RCBO means that if there is an issue with one Circuit and it is tripping, it will not affect the other Circuits in the house, which is extremely helpful if something happens at a time when you are unable to get an Electrician out to rectify the issue.
