Did you know today is World Paperback Book Day?

This is my Epiphyllum guatemalense var. monstrose 'Curly Sue', the Curly Orchid Cactus, thriving in LECA clay balls.

A lot of people think an epiphytic cactus like this won't do well in semi hydroponics, but this plant has been in LECA for a few years now and you can see that it is growing. There are lots of fresh growth tips.

It is in an Ecopots pot by Ecopots. I love this planter because it allows for a wick setup, making sure my epiphyllum doesn't get too much water, and the water level indicator helps me stay on top of keeping nutrient in the reservoir.

I give it Foliage Focus and it is happy.

On Saturday the 11th of July, I had the honour of hosting a moss pole making workshop at Endeavour Hills Library with the loveliest group of plant lovers. We had a wonderful time talking plants and making moss poles.

A special thank you to The Plant Runner for supplying us with their brilliant aroid mix. Thank you to Connected Libraries and all the attendees who chose to spend their Saturday morning with me making moss poles, and thank you to everyone who picked up a copy of Plant Parenting for Busy People on the day. A special shout out to my special helpers on the day. I could not have done it without you!
