The right planting palette can completely elevate the character of a home.

For this weatherboard Hamptons-style project, the landscaping needed to feel soft, timeless and in keeping with the architecture. Layered greenery, clipped hedging and complementary planting helped frame the home without overpowering it, adding texture and depth against the clean lines of the cladding.

The balance is what makes it work. Structured enough to feel refined, but relaxed enough to feel welcoming and lived in.

A large statement pot filled with mixed succulents can completely change the feel of a garden corner.
The variation in colour, shape and texture creates interest without needing a huge amount of space, making it an easy way to add depth to paving areas, pool zones or outdoor entertaining spaces.

We love combining different succulent varieties to create arrangements that feel sculptural, layered and low maintenance all at once.

Not every layer of greenery needs to live within the garden beds.

Large planter pots can completely transform transitional spaces like porches, entryways and alfresco areas, bringing softness and texture right up to the home itself. Using well established plants instantly adds depth and presence, making the space feel settled and lived in from day one.

The right combination of oversized pots and mature planting can frame an entrance beautifully, soften hard surfaces and create a seamless connection between the home and landscape.

One of our most luxurious projects to date, and one that was on a grand scale!

Sometimes the most impressive spaces are the ones that feel calm, timeless and completely effortless. This riverside project was designed to complement the home’s architecture with understated elegance.

Soft layered planting, natural textures and expansive lawns created a sense of quiet opulence, while a canopy of spectacular leafy trees brought privacy and enclosure to the garden without compromising the outlook.

The result is a landscape that feels established, secluded and deeply connected to its surroundings.

There’s something about Palm Springs-inspired design that never goes out of style. Warm neutral paving underfoot, layered textures, lush greenery and spaces designed to slow you down and stay awhile.

This backyard rejuvenation was all about creating a resort feel at home. A custom swimming pool and spa take centre stage, framed by an oversized umbrella and sun loungers for long afternoons outdoors. Off to the side, a separate fire pit zone surrounded by towering bamboo creates a completely different atmosphere once the sun goes down.

The result is a backyard that feels calm, private and effortlessly luxurious.

Blue Chalk Sticks are one of those plants that instantly give a garden a clean, architectural look. Their soft blue-grey colour works beautifully against natural stone, concrete and timber, making them a favourite for modern Australian landscape designs.

They’re hardy, low maintenance and perfect for adding texture and contrast to garden beds, pathways and poolside spaces.

We're thrilled to show you the results of a recent Bayside garden renovation project completed in collaboration with Nadia Gill Landscape Design!

A landscape like this is the result of careful planning, precision construction and attention to every detail.

This project brings together a resort-style pool and spa, premium stone paving, frameless glass pool fencing and layered planting to create a private backyard retreat. The curved pool and spa softens the space and improves flow between the entertaining areas, while the extensive hedging provides year-round privacy and a lush green backdrop.

The custom pool surrounds were constructed to deliver seamless transitions between the spa, pool, play area, and outdoor living zones. Every paving cut, level change and garden edge was meticulously set out to achieve the clean, refined finish you see here.

Mature feature trees, architectural planting and carefully selected materials combine to create a landscape that feels established, balanced and effortlessly functional. The result is a timeless outdoor environment designed for entertaining, relaxation and everyday enjoyment for our clients.

From excavation and hardscaping through to planting and finishing details, this is a great example of how thoughtful landscape construction completed by Simon McCurdy Landscapes can completely transform the way a property is lived in and enjoyed.
