Garden sheds need to be a practical easy to get to garden addition.
The term Aesthetically is not associated with a shed .
Often this is not a high priority for people however should be given more consideration as it can be a beautiful addition to your garden if done well.
Here we have my shed that has large barn doors made for easy access, doors are an Australian hardwood timber (Blackbutt) for its durability and aesthetics.
As our shed is in the direct line of sight from our kitchen and dining room.

Here we have our walkway avenue leading you into our alfresco.
We have 200mm x 200mm hardwood posts that are cantilevered and wrapped with Parthenocissus quinquefolia and Parthenocissus tricuspidata creating a living green curtain that evokes a sense of calmness, natural basalt rounds 700mm/900mm surrounded with Zoysia tenuifolia and Ophiopogon japonicus helps create texture under your feet especially when walking barefoot.

Knowing your plant’s requirements helps you to release your plants full potential; understanding your soil and root composition will play a major role in the overall success of your garden.
In order for your plants to soften and enhance your garden they firstly need to be planted in great nutrient enriched soil, mulched well, have the right spacing between other plants, as well as an understanding of the plant’s roots - as some plants have an aggressive rootball that makes it difficult for new plants to flourish.
Choose wisely as the biggest investment in any garden is TIME, allowing your plant to grow into its new surroundings.

Having the appropriate microclimate planting combination will help create the feeling that you want to experience in your garden.
This is our Cape Schanck project where the home owners wanted the garden to add a sense of relaxation and be welcoming with bold foliage colours. They needed the garden to be able to soften and enhance their new home.
Incorporating natives with succulents has created wonderful colour combination.

This is a 1.5 meter wide by 2 meter long tricky garden bed. Not a lot of room however it needs to enrich the space.
This is a small section of the garden that plays an incredible important part in setting ambiance in our home, this is a zone that connects the back of our garage/butlers pantry, kitchen and dining room.
We wanted it to feel calming and enriched in layers,have movement as well as fragrance when we have our window open.
