Every landscape begins with a story.
Wisteria-covered arbours, outdoor bathing, space for long warm moonlit conversations, heritage apples and fragrant plantings for cocktails, teas and seasonal gatherings...
I am beyond excited to share a first look at The Storekeeper’s House - a collaborative project with my incredibly talented client, storyteller and preservationist, Carrie.
We have been spoilt for inspiration here. The more we look, the more we see.
The design draws inspiration from the original Storekeepers story - Simon Johnson Bird, an Irish General Merchant. Alongside the heritage of the home, the township of Euroa, its railway history and the surrounding granite landscapes.
Rather than creating one garden, we are creating Gardens within a Garden - a collection of immersive spaces designed for wandering, gathering, harvesting, soaking, resting and reconnecting with nature.
Each garden room has been carefully considered to create moments of discovery, balancing shared experiences with quiet places of retreat for future guests staying at the property.
This is the beginning of this homes landscape journey - where ideas are explored, stories are uncovered and the vision starts to take shape.
I can’t wait to share more as the garden evolves.
