A switchboard can appear to be working normally while dangerous issues develop behind the cover. Regular inspections help ensure your main switch, circuit protection and incoming cable are in correct working conditions

If the protective device is rated higher than the cable can safely carry under its installation conditions, the cable may overheat before the breaker trips—potentially causing damaged insulation, arcing or an electrical fire.

No cable? No problem. ⚡️

We needed to install a switch at this location, but running a conventional cable would have meant cutting into the finished cabinetry.

Instead, we installed a wireless switch mechanism paired with a receiver, giving the customer full control of the light without exposed cabling or unnecessary damage.

A practical solution with a clean and happy customer. ✅

🛠️ Not every job is as simple…

This installation required a 152mm pe*******on through double brick, and a standard hammer drill simply wasn’t going to get the job done cleanly or efficiently.

After weighing up the options, we invested in a diamond core drill specifically for this type of work. Finding a quality 152mm core bit wasn’t easy either, but having the right equipment makes all the difference.

From setting up the rig, ensuring everything was perfectly level, supplying water for the cut, and carefully drilling through double brick, this process took around 5 hours with a team of 3. It’s a great example of the work that happens behind the scenes that most people never get to see.

The end result? A clean, accurate 152mm core hole with minimal damage to the surrounding brickwork—exactly the standard we aim for on every job.

Quality workmanship starts with using the right tools, not taking shortcuts. ⚡
