Nailed It - Carpentry and Property Maintenance

A local carpenter to the Highfields area specialising in a wide variety of small and one off carpentry work. My scope of works is very broad.

Nailed It Carpentry and Property Maintenance is a local carpenter who specializes in a wide variety of small and one off carpentry work as well as property maintenance. Design and carpentry have been my passion for many years. In 2015 I completed my certificate III in carpentry. 2020

Has seen many changes, one of which being the decision to start my own business, continuing to work with clients making their ideas realities. Over the years I have gained extensive experience dealing with challenging jobs, often doing work many others class as too hard or too much effort. Some of my jobs in the past have included but are most certainly not limited to;

- Kitchen and bathroom re models
- Walk in robe and cupboard fit-outs
- Carports and shade structures
- Dividing and enclosing rooms
- Garden shed erections
- Decks, handrails and balustrading
- Installation and removal of windows, doors and doorways
- Built in desks, workbenches and shelves
- Fencing and retaining walls

My jobs also quite often broaden beyond carpentry. Small motor maintenance, gardening/landscaping and rural property work are just a few of the other services I am capable of. I enjoy working with my clients, often from the design stage to ensure that they are getting exactly what they want while ensuring the finished product is going to be both functional and enduring. Meet Riley - Nailed It’s newest team member.
Riley undertook some work experience with us last year and seriously impressed us with his hardworking attitude, natural ability and willingness to learn.
When he approached us this year and asked whether we would consider taking him on as a school based apprentice, we couldn’t say no.
In his spare time, you’ll find him studying hard or tearing up the dirt on his motorbike and he’s certainly not one to shy away from a bit of hard yakka.

We look forward to guiding Riley through his apprenticeship and sharing his hard work and talent with all of our valued clients 🛠️

Our socials were quiet last year but our tools have never had so much use!

We have absolutely loved, valued and sincerely appreciated the support and recommendations from our amazing clients and local community over the past year. We couldn’t have had such an amazing year without you and we are looking forward to another year of working alongside exisiting and new clients to bring your visions to life ⚒

We currently have a large amount of inquiries and quote requests and as a result it is taking us longer than usual to be able to respond and get quotes out the door.

This buster had a buster on the way to school this morning. After a quick Dr Grandma Check over, he was cleared to operate the paint brush for the rest of the day. Someone should have told him the paint goes on the timber not his work shirt 🤣

It has been a hot minute since we’ve last shared a post of some of the many projects we have taken on over the past few months!
Thank you to all of our valued clients, business associates, family and friends for all of your recommendations, feedback, shares and support for our small family business. We have been absolutely blown away by all of the amazing support from our local community and look forward to sharing some of our projects with you all, over the coming months.

Did you know we also do above ground pool assembly and decking? Pictured here is a nice little rural project we took on earlier this year. We assembled the pool and created a small landing and entry point for the pool making it easier as well as safer to enter the pool with little ones.
Due to the height of the pool, full fencing is not required however we installed safety fencing for the landing to ensure all legislative requirements were met and little ones kept safe ☀️🌿💦
We are also able to build an entire or partial deck for around your pool or for your backyard project. With the summer months fast approaching, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us now to get your back yard projects sorted!

One of the challenges with renovation work is being able to adapt and overcome issues as they arise.

The combination set in the shower of the bathroom we recently refreshed had originally been installed to finish flush with the face of the tile. Which was fine 30 years ago, however it meant the new tapware was unable to seal against the tiles.

With a few phone calls, some research and a pinch of patience we were able to source theses wall spacers, meaning we could fit off the clients flashy new tapware 👌🏼🚿

🐈 Something a little different for this one. 🐈

A client has a kitty that was being loved to death by her youngster and needed the occasional safe space for some respite. This Kitty Cage is made from 17mm ply top, bottom and back, along with 42x19 pine on the fronts and sides. All joins were doweled, glued and nailed to ensure maximum strength while not making the cat feel it was completely locked away.

Here’s to loving the cat from a distance 🤣🐈

A quick tidy up on the front deck of this home.

A split post, rotted out handrails and an aged subfloor were letting the first impressions of this home down. We replaced the post with some primed merbau, re-aligned the upper handrails and balustrade, replaced the worn out handrail on the stairs and continued the merbau decking down the face of the deck.

Cant wait to see this beauty once she’s all painted up 🏡

🤯 WTF - What The Friday 🤯

I was under a house recently replacing some flooring and came across not one stump but several in this condition... The weight of the house is simply too much for the thin walled RHS posts used to fabricate these caps.

I am a big supporter of adjustable stumps. Having the ability to make accurate adjustments, especially in soils prone to movement is a huge advantage compared to the days of jacks, blocks, packers and a water level.

I do however choose to use engineered stump caps from LevelMaster over homemade ones 😅🛠

🏚 TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY 🏠

Thanks Stu and Dee for entrusting us with the task of freshening up your bathroom 🛁

30 years had taken its toll and with no kiddies left in the house it was time to do away with the tub and give the room a fresh new feel.

By keeping the original shower position and painting the tiles we were able to knock this room over for a fraction of the price of a full Reno. A new vanity with full height tiles, some new sheets and floor tiles plus blacked out fittings and fixtures has really made this space pop!

Hardwood rafters and battens ready for some paint before replacing the tired, rotten pine. Using hardwood and ensuring everything is well painted will guarantee these rafters will outlast the clients, saving the time, cost and hassle of needing to do the job again.
