Blockages, Blockages, Blockages!!!!

We were called to a property after some heavy rain, the homeowner reporting that there was water flowing out of the gutters like a waterfall!!

A quick camera inspection of the stormwater system revealed a number of serious tree root blockages. Further investigation revealed the cause of the tree root ingress which happened to be the incorrect installation of a 90mm pvc tee junction. The tee had been cut in half, a hole drilled into the side of the pipe, a small amount of concrete and some sheet metal covering it all before being buried in the ground. It had no chance against the tree roots from day one.
It sounds really simple but doing something as easy as installing a pvc stormwater tee correctly will save you $$$$ in the long run. Plumbing has a way of exposing dodgy shortcuts, they all surface eventually 🙂

Blocked sewer in a holiday rental in Metung!

We were recently called up to attend a sewer blockage in Metung and were able to quickly identify the blockage and pinpoint its location with our camera/locator.
The excavator was needed due to the depth of the pipes and the rock hard nature of the clay but it made light work of the dig and was just the right size to get into the tight location where access was very limited.
All fixed and flowing again and the holiday makers can continue to enjoy their stay.

Broken stormwater pipe under concrete!!

In order to fix the broken stormwater pipe we would’ve had to cut/jackhammer out sections of the concrete car parking area so a decision was made to redirect the stormwater around the edge of the concrete and connect it back in to the system further downstream.
A nice tidy end result and no more leaking stormwater pipes next to the foundations of the house.
Our tipping trailer/mini excavator combo comes in handy on small jobs like this where access is limited.
All excess dirt was dumped onsite to fill some uneven ground and the trench backfilled/compacted with crushed to match the existing driveway.

New water tap in and waterline renewal in Paynesville. This job required a new water meter installation as the front yard was subdivided and the old waterline for the existing house ran through the newly subdivided block which had to be rectified.
We called upon Aussie Septic Solutions and their hydro excavation equipment to locate/expose the water main due to the amount of services in the vicinity of our dig. Excavator buckets and electrical services don’t mix! 😬

A bit of a mixed bag in Johnsonville with this one.
We were contacted to install a below ground sewer line and to complete all of the internal/external plumbing for this new pet grooming business.
We also re shaped the driveway, spread out some topsoil and gave the front yard a tidy up with the machines.
