Required building inspections do not occur only at the end of construction.

The building permit identifies the mandatory inspection stages that apply to the project. When a required stage is ready, the builder must notify the relevant building surveyor so the inspection can be arranged.

These inspections assess compliance with building regulations. They are not the same as an independent quality review against every requirement in the building contract.

Keep a copy of the permit, inspection records and final occupancy documentation with your project records.
