Water-damaged timbers were removed from this front veranda and replaced with new treated pine decking. The customer then finished the job by staining the decking with a high-quality decking oil. A simple repair like this not only restores the look of the space but also ensures the structure is protected from future damage.

Water-damaged shower repair completed! We've been seeing an increase in these types of jobs recently. The truth is, many of these shower recesses could have been saved with some preventative maintenance. Make sure to check your grout and silicone regularly—if they look like they need redoing, take care of it before you end up needing to rebuild the entire shower recess. It’s a small fix that can prevent a much bigger problem down the line.
Unfortunately, this particular shower had been previously patched by an untrained person who cut out a small section and retiled. This type of fix simply doesn’t work and often leads to more extensive damage in the long run. Proper repairs and maintenance are essential to avoid costly rebuilds.

Removed the old rotted floorboards and joists, replaced joists and installed 90mm treated pine decking and oiled with Cabots decking oil with merbau tint.
