Last week we had Ryder join us at SECO Homes for work experience 🔨

On his first day, we got to know a bit about him — a Year 10 student from Millicent High School with a growing interest in the trade life.

When we asked what he was most excited to learn, Ryder said he was keen to understand more about becoming a carpenter and how houses are built. By the end of the week, he’d already picked up a few things about guttering 👏

His first impression of site?
“It's amazing – good people to work with and a good experience.”

As for the future, Ryder’s got his sights set on either carpentry or plumbing, after discovering a love for working with timber through school woodwork.

We love giving young people a chance to get hands-on and see what the industry is really about. Thanks for joining us, Ryder — we reckon you’ve got a bright future ahead 💪

Meet Cambell 🔨

Cambell has just wrapped up his work experience at Seco Homes this week 👏

He’s keen to get into a carpentry trade and has absolutely loved his time on site—especially working alongside the carpenters and learning how to put up wall frames.

Over the week, Cambell got hands-on with both 1st fix and 2nd fix work and feels like he’s learnt heaps already. He’s especially excited to keep building his skills in 1st fix. 🔨

A big welcome to Jordan, our newest team member at Seco Homes! Jordan comes to us after completing his apprenticeship in Adelaide. He's got a passion for learning and has moved back to Millicent to explore new opportunities with us. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys fishing, spending time with friends, and watching sports.
