Have you considered the benefits of soil testing? Soil characteristics are what determines water and solute (think nutrients) movevement into, through, and out of your soil. This in turn effects your plant growth and health. So whether your cropping or grazing, it makes sense to know how your soil is determining your end product and profit.
This program will pay up to $10,000 towards the cost of testing of physical, chemical, and biological properties in your soil. This includes bulk density, texture, EC, pH, total organic carbon, available nitrogen (Nitrate and ammonium nitrogen), available phosphorus, and soil microbial biomass.
If you want to know more about how these properties effect your business, contact Caitlin 07) 41667141 or do a Google search yourself (highly recommend government agricultural sites or soil science organisations for current and correct information).
Farmers and other land managers can apply for up to $10,000 of Commonwealth funding to help pay for soil testing and contributions to a national soil database.
DAWE’s two year, $54 million, Pilot Soil Monitoring and Incentives Program will capture and store new soil data that is vital for the management of this important resource.
The Program encourages land managers to begin or expand soil testing. It also supports farmers to undertake soil carbon measurements for soil carbon projects under the Emissions Reduction Fund.
