PART 1 - worst brand new install I’ve ever seen?

Backstory;
This board exactly as you see it in this video was signed off by an LEI, and was awaiting energisation by Ausnet.
It was less than 24 hours old.

3 factories with operating business’ had been left off supply, and the contractor who installed had ghosted. Hadn’t even organised a generator.

Personally I am dumbfounded that any sparky could leave an install like this, and that any business owner could leave their clients in the lurch the way they had been. Absolutely disgraceful workmanship and conduct.

12 months in the making!
Critical load for a pharmaceutical company now has a 150kVa UPS, paired with 4800aH of batteries all controlled through a Fourth Phase designed and built custom bypass DB, which enables quadruple redundancy via a secondary standby generator (as well as grid mains & whole site generator).

Working for a global company in this industry certainly comes with crazy levels of paperwork, risk mitigation and meticulous planning - all for a 12 minute shutdown.

- Competency with Xero a must
- Competency with a JMS is crucial, with Tradify being preferred
- role will include general accounts, payroll, scheduling, emails, compilation of O&M manuals, SWMS/JSA’s, handling apprentice/tradeschool related matters, handling office phone calls and general office organisation etc.

Office based in Montrose & pending on existing skill set, part time, permanent part time or a full time role is available. Please reach out and propose your own hours if this sounds like a job that suits you!

11 years ago this photo was taken. My first ever sign writing. Fresh out of my apprenticeship, just over 23 years old, absolutely no idea what I was doing in business but I thought I was s**t hot.

Had nothing but a financed Ute to my name, a good work ethic and probably too much ego 😂
So much hard work has gone into this business behind the scenes, lots of trials and tribulations. No one tells you at the start how isolating it can be, sleepless nights, sometimes months between pay days, dealing with absolute F wits and then some of the best people you’ll meet.

I am proud of the business I have built. Have some absolute legends I get to call colleagues, great mates and lifelong friendships I have made along the way. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, but as I write this I am away with my family while the work continues to get done (thanks team) - I wouldn’t change it for a thing.

I guess this is a bit of self reflection and a moment to let everyone know that you’re not on your own and to pat yourself on the back sometimes.
A massive thankyou to my then girlfriend - now wife, and all of my close mates for the chats, support and friendship ❤️
