Introducing a little something new 👋

⚡️ WEEK IN THE LIFE WITH THE TES TEAM ⚡️

We thought we’d start sharing a little more of what actually goes on behind the scenes at Thompson Electrical each week.

From solar, batteries and electrical to heating & cooling, commercial jobs, site visits, team training, quoting…and everything else we somehow manage to squeeze in between 😂

No two weeks around here ever look the same and that’s exactly how we like it.

Seeing it all pulled together like this is pretty special.

The award is obviously something we’re incredibly proud of, but what I’m most proud of is what sits behind it.

A great team, great customers and a business that has grown into something much bigger than me.

We’re continuing to grow, take on new challenges and expand what we can offer our customers, without losing sight of what got us here in the first place.

Good people. Good workmanship. And looking after our customers.

Proud of where we’ve come from and even more excited about where we’re heading.

Today we were lucky enough to have Patrick from NECA spend some time mentoring some of our tech team.

The insights, industry knowledge and experience he shared were invaluable and the conversations that came from the session were fantastic.

We absolutely love creating opportunities for our team to upskill, learn and grow…not just technically, but as leaders and professionals within our industry.

Days like today are such a great reminder of how valuable it is to make time for development, share knowledge and keep learning from those around us.

A huge thank you to Patrick and NECA for investing the time in our team. We loved it!

This was playing behind Alex on the big screen while he was up on stage on the night and seeing it all again is just awesome!

Happy Monday! Still pretty special seeing 2026 NECA Small Business Awards (State Winner) next to our name. Completely surreal!

We’ve already shared how much this recognition means to us, so we won’t say it all again, other than to say we’re incredibly proud of our team and very grateful for everyone who has been part of the TES journey.

We’ll definitely be rocking this one with pride.

Thank you again to NECA Victoria for the recognition and for such a brilliant night celebrating our industry.

There’s a lot I’m proud of when I look at what we’ve built, but this team is right at the top of the list.

We work so damn hard, have a laugh and try to have a bit of fun along the way, support each other to get us through and somehow always try to get it done.

But the thing I value and appreciate the most…is that when it matters, we have each other’s backs. Always.

Damn good people, doing really good work…what a bloody amazing team.

Wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

Still taking this one in…

I’m so extremely proud to share that Thompson Electrical Solutions has been named the 2026 NECA Small Contracting Business of the Year (Victoria).

I’m still in shock but, standing up there accepting this award was such a huge moment. I honestly couldn’t believe it. Honestly though, this award and the recognition that comes with it, belongs to our whole team, I couldn’t do it without you guys.

When Stace and I put this submission together, we wanted it to represent what TES is really about. It was written and based on the people we have surrounding us, the culture we’re striving for and building, the way we look after our customers, our core purpose and the role we play in our local community (and how we are working to strengthen this).

A big part of all of this, has been our commitment to education and helping people better understand electrification, through our amazing partnerships with Repower Mornington Peninsula, the Home Innovations Centre and the conversations and relationships we have with our customers.

To the team…thank you. I’m genuinely so proud of you guys! We are building something so damn good. The care you put into your work, the way you support each other, have eachothers backs and the pride you take in representing Thompson Electrical is what makes our business strong and what it is today.

To our customers, wholesalers, industry support partners and everyone in our community who has supported us along the way, thank you so much for continuing to back a local small business like ours, it honestly means everything.

When I started TES, the goal was pretty simple…do good work, look after people and build a business to be proud of.

To now be recognised by NECA as Small Contracting Business of the Year is something I’m extremely grateful for and something I do not take lightly.

Proud of what we’ve achieved. Even prouder of the people we are doing this with.

And we’re only getting started 😉 this next chapter for us is going to be bloody epic!
