It’s here! After months of waiting, planning, chasing, and occasionally checking whether it had joined the witness protection program, our storage container has finally arrived.
Already it’s proving its worth; not only as much-needed storage space but also as a shady volunteer gathering spot for morning chats, gardening discussions, and solving the world's problems.
With storage finally available, we can once again accept useful garden-related donations. If you have tools, star pickets, temporary fencing, trellis materials, pruning or irrigation equipment looking for a new home, please contact Monika first to make sure we can use it.
After all, one gardener’s clutter is another gardener’s future infrastructure!
😍😍

Massive thanks to our mulch-moving, compost-making heroes!

A huge pile of mulch was kindly donated by MPDT and moved with the help of the legendary Rodney, our unofficial emergency response team whenever things get tricky.

Meanwhile, dear Herold pulled a night shift at the chipper, turning heaps of coarse garden scraps into the perfect ingredients for compost magic.

The result? Our regular garden wizards built an absolutely magnificent hot compost heap. It's steaming, it's glorious, and it's probably visible from space.

Thanks to everyone involved. The garden keeps growing because of people like you.
You all rock!

MULCH MOVERS & JUNGLE TAMERS WANTED
This Saturday morning, the gardens at Circle of Plenty are in need of a little love… and possibly a machete. After what feels like 47 years of rain, the weeds have become confident, the paths are disappearing, and some vegetables may now officially count as rainforest species. 🌧️
We’ll be shifting mulch, tidying beds, rescuing pathways from jungle takeover, and generally giving the space a good pampering session.
If you feel like fresh air, light exercise, garden therapy, or simply watching other people wrestle forks — come along! Volunteers are very welcome, whether you stay 20 minutes or the whole time.

this Saturday, 16th May, 8–10 am

Bring gloves, a hat, water bottle, and your best weed-pulling muscles. Bonus points if you can identify where the garden beds actually are under the current vegetation. 😄

At the Circle of Plenty, everyone is welcome… except the pineapple thieves 🍍😅

We understand some people are doing it tough, and we’re always happy to share our harvest with volunteers and visitors on Tuesday mornings (8–9am-ish). We’ve got herbs, greens, pumpkins, fruit and good company growing here.

But helping yourself to our prized juicy organic pineapple before harvest day? That’s a bit hard to swallow!

Next time, come join us instead. We don’t bite… only into the pineapple 🍍

A huge thank you to Mossman & Port Douglas Tree Lopping for supporting our Food Garden Project with a generous donation of free mulch! 🌱

Community helping community is what keeps projects like this growing, quite literally. Every wheelbarrow load helps us nourish the soil, grow more food, and create a greener, more connected space for everyone.

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and kindness. You’ve helped us “muLch” more than we can say! 😊

Together, we keep growing.

Garden of Woven Memories⁶ Working bee
We’ll meet at 8am, go through until around 10ish, and as always: reconnect, have a laugh, show the weeds who’s boss, and trim grasses for mulch.
If you’ve got the time, come along — would be lovely to see you.
Bring enclosed shoes, hat, gloves, water bottle, maybe a tool, and whatever else keeps you comfy.

Update from the Circle of Plenty

Your main garden legends are currently very busy, and the area is still a bit on the soggy side: less “lush oasis,” more “premium mud spa.”

So! We regroup Tuesday after 7am to continue our noble quest of site embellishment (aka making it look like we totally have a plan).

Bring boots, optimism, and a sense of humour, one of these is essential, the others are optional.

MULCH MOVEMENT ALERT
Calling all legends, wheelbarrow warriors, and cardboard connoisseurs… we need YOU! 💪
We’ve got an exciting situation sprouting up — a SEA CONTAINER is rolling into our lives VERY soon (yes, dreams do come true 😍🚢). But before that beauty lands, we need to level up the space!

🪵 Mission: Move mulch like mulch-moving champions
📦 Side quest: Lay down cardboard like eco-friendly royalty
😎 Vibe: Good tunes, good laughs, slightly questionable coordination

No experience required — if you can lift, drag, toss, or supervise with excellent morale-boosting commentary, you’re hired. Tomorrow
Tuesday morning from 7- 8.30am.
