It’s been a tough year for the Tru Tree Care family and our community.

Many of you knew Ben and the pride he took in his work and the relationships he built over the years.

We’re really proud to share that we’re nearly ready to get things back up and running again.

With the support of some of Ben’s close mates and the Truran family behind it, Tru Tree Care is preparing to return in May

In the meantime:

Did you know we can install bracing systems in trees to reduce the risk of union failure? This can be applied to many scenarios either before a failure or after a split or crack has appeared. Here we’re installing a dynamic cable in a preventative scenario. Alex is finishing the second splice before final adjustment.

Failing at the roots, this entire tree hung over a high ropes course. Setting some blocks in another tree to stabilise and lift the fallen tree, and Jye climbing up the adjacent tree, this poor tree came down just fine ready for the next group to use the high ropes course. What a start to gardening season! In less than 2 weeks our mountain has been reduced to a mole hill* with 15 truck loads delivered since the sun came out.

Get your orders in if you’re looking for mulch this spring to avoid long waits.

*No actual mole habitat was disturbed during the delivery of mulch.

Another wild night of weather and a couple of call-outs last night. The first was on the Great Alpine Road towards Mount Hotham, a motorist had cleared this little one before the crew got on site. The second one was a very large limb in Tawonga South. With the assistance of the SES, the road was cleared quite quickly in the early hours of this morning.

The wet weather keeps knocking them down. 2 of our crew assisted DM Roads crew at 2 sites on the Mount Buffalo road with fallen trees today, amidst the Tour of Bright cycling event. The broken, dead branch over the road was quite wedged in there. We had to use the EWP to get up and cut it out.

They’re not all big trees that fall down. Tonight was just this little wattle blocking 1 lane of traffic.
