We have had Oliver with us from Tafe for the week doing some work experience. I really believe we have to give the young ones a go and this young guy will make a bloody good tradie when he moves towards a full-time job. These generations are different to us old cranky farts but the still work when they are in their right environment and will be an asset to your business.

Saturday morning for the boys was spent transforming these old anodised brown aluminium window frames into gloss black

What a difference.

The old brown anodised finish was really dating the home, but once the gloss black started going on, the whole place completely changed its look.
A lot of people still don’t realise anodised aluminium windows can actually be repainted properly. They absolutely can — with the right preparation, sanding and primer system.

We are not creating brand new windows. But we are giving people the opportunity to modernise their homes and change the colour of their frames without the massive cost of replacing everything.

The reason we do what we do is to give people the opportunity to finish off a renovation without the extremely high cost of replacing aluminium windows and doors.

We also give people the chance to change the colour of their existing frames so they finally match in with a new colour scheme, updated interior or modern exterior makeover.

Are we creating brand new windows? No.
But that’s not the point.

The goal is to transform existing aluminium frames with a clean modern finish that helps bring the whole house together again — without the cost and disruption of replacing everything.

We were so lucky to have Eddy as a rescue dog for 10yrs and I honestly thought we would have him for 10 more 💔 You gave love unconditionally and asked for nothing in return. As a family we are broken today.

Video of these garage doors finished in Colourbond Surfmist.
This is what controlled spraying should look like. Smooth, even finish right across the panels with no patchiness, no striping and no heavy edges. Surfmist can be unforgiving if it’s not applied properly, so it comes down to prep, gun control and building the coats the right way.
These doors were cleaned, sanded, degreased and masked before any paint went on. From there it’s about consistency — same distance, same overlap, same pressure — so the finish lays down clean and uniform.
Surfmist works really well on garage doors, especially when it ties in with soffits, gutters or window frames. It freshens the whole front of the house without looking overdone.
Simple job on paper, but the finish only comes out like this when everything underneath is done properly.
