Another interesting termite job completed in Murwillumbah last week:
The damage in this photo was found beneath a second-storey bathroom floor, where termites had taken advantage of a slow leak from the shower recess. The constant moisture created ideal conditions for termite activity, allowing them to attack the timber well above ground level.
Many people think termites only enter homes from underneath, but when a reliable moisture source is available they can establish themselves almost anywhere in a building. Bathrooms, laundries, leaking balconies and even gutters blocked with leaf litter can all create the conditions termites are looking for.
Finding the termites is only one part of the job. Understanding why they’re there is just as important. Identifying and rectifying moisture issues is a key part of reducing the risk of future infestations and helping termite management remain effective.
Regular termite inspections are designed to detect these problems before extensive damage occurs. Even when there are no obvious signs inside the home, termites can remain hidden behind walls and beneath floors for long periods.
