A glimpse into a recent project: a period bedroom made new. We installed new plasterboard walls and a suspended ceiling, as requested by the customer. It was a great project, we really enjoyed helping to bring this home back to its former glory.

We really enjoyed this project! This family farmhouse in Maranup was refreshed with a range of internal and external upgrades. For the exterior, the existing asbestos cladding was removed and replaced with new Hardieboard and subfloor cladding. We also installed new windows and sliding doors, which freshened and lifted the overall look. The owners’ colour choices of Ancient Ruin (Dulux) for the cladding and Vesuvius (Colourmix) for the decorative concrete under the new veranda look fantastic! This was a really enjoyable project, it was great collaborating with the lovely owners to help transform their home.

We recently completed a hallway renovation in this circa 1905 Bridgetown home, which was originally built for the town’s first doctor. We removed the existing horsehair plaster, preserving as much of the original lath as possible. We installed new plasterboard ceilings and walls, in line with our client’s wishes, and installed colonial cornice and ceiling roses, and repaired the arch detailing. The final result is beautiful, the hallway is now a real show-stopper!

Sharing this before and after of a bedroom fireplace renovation in this beautiful circa 1905 Bridgetown home. We restored the rendered brick fireplace, repairing cracks and restoring the decorative detail. We also replaced the walls and installed a new suspended square edge ceiling. This transformation really brings the home's period character to life, it’s always a pleasure helping restore Bridgetown's historic gems.

It was a pleasure renovating this circa 1905 home in Bridgetown. Built for the town’s first doctor, the house has kept much of its original character. For the hallway renovation, we removed the cracked existing horsehair plaster, preserving as much of the original lath as possible. We installed new plasterboard ceilings and walls, as requested by the customer. New colonial cornice and ceiling roses were added, and we repaired the detailing on the original arch. The finished hallway beautifully showcases this historic home.

Don’t forget: moisture is the enemy! Proper water management can often get overlooked in the excitement of installing new windows. It’s best not to cut corners, if water gets in behind your walls it can be too late before you realise it has caused big (and costly) problems. Not only your home, but also your health (water = mould issues). It’s worth going the extra mile to make sure your windows and walls are protected: taking the time to install additional flashings, thoroughly paint exposed timber before adding architraves, and making sure everything is properly sealed can save you major headaches later. It’s best to protect your home by making water management a top priority when you’re renovating.

It was a pleasure helping to revitalise the hallways in this mid-century farmhouse in Maranup. We replaced the cracked and sagging ceilings and installed two Art Deco-inspired ceiling roses and decorative “Concerto” cornice for extra impact. We also repaired wall defects and prepared the walls for painting. Our customers decided to keep the original light fixture, which looks great. After painting and the beautiful original jarrah floors were restored (a fantastic job by Blechynden Timber Flooring), the hallways now look stunning!
