Returning for its 35th year, the award-winning Abbey Medieval Festival will be hosted on the grounds of Abbeystowe, Caboolture this 10 - 12th July.

Our Reenactors, performers and stallholders ⚔️- over 1,000 of you who bring your love and passion of history to life for 3 days a year, we acknowledge the time you take from your busy lives to celebrate a thousand years of human history. From demonstrations and skilled research to building handcrafted historically accurate villages that represent your time period, you are what drives thousands of visitors to our festival each year.

Huzzah to our volunteers- over 300 volunteers join us every year to don the blue and red tabards to bring an authentic and unique experience to our visitors, your contribution from learning the medieval lingo and keeping all areas of the festival running smoothly is why our visitors leave feeling a sense of inclusion and wonder.

Finally, to YOU, our loyal followers, visitors and supporters who make the pilgrimage to Abbeystowe.
Without your feedback and continued support, we couldn’t be where we are today.

This year is huge, with two gold awards at QLD and now National level, and celebration of 35 years of the Abbey Medieval Festival, it’s been a long journey to get us to this point and we are eternally thankful to everyone who has been a part of our story since 1989.

We are thrilled to announce that GIA SCAFFOLD PTY LTD has secured the scaffold works contract for the Rennie St project in Indooroopilly, Brisbane, Queensland! This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to our team's dedication and expertise.

A big thank you to the Linco Group, with whom we've worked closely from the outset to develop a comprehensive scope for the project. By collaborating early, we’ve been able to streamline planning, enhance safety standards, and ensure a smoother build for all involved.

Hands Off! Stop Scaffold Tampering. Falls and Falling Objects.

Scaffolds are designed to protect both workers at height and those below from harm.

When guardrails, toe boards, platforms, or netting are removed or altered, these vital safety measures are lost. The result? Increased risk of falls, dropped tools, and debris, hazards that can cause serious injury or death.

Tampering also exposes employers to legal, insurance, and reputational risks, while damaging safety culture and morale across the site.

HANDS OFF!, STOP Scaffold Tampering - Month 2 Focus: Scaffold Collapse

Month 1 of the Scaffolding Association of Australia (SAA) campaign
looked at what scaffold tampering is and the legal and financial risks of unauthorised modifications. Now, in Month 2, they're shining a light on how tampering can lead directly to structural failure and collapse, one of the most dangerous outcomes of unauthorised scaffold modifications.

Every scaffold component is a integral, engineered part of a scaffold regardless of type, size or use. When someone unauthorised, tampers, removes or makes adjustments (i.e. ties and braces) the integrity of the structure can be lost, and collapse becomes a real possibility.

Scaffold collapse isn’t just about property damage. Lives are at stake. Watch the following video to understand the real affect of scaffold tampering!
