🌿 It's National Tree Day, and we’re geeking out over trees! A good excuse to stop, get outside and look up today.

Our trees play a huge role in our environment, as our planet’s lungs, filtration systems and so much more.

Look up and appreciate the view today. 🌳

🌿 A bit different from your average tree job.

This apartment complex in Newcastle didn't exactly offer easy access. Every branch we cut had to be carried through the building, taken down in the elevator, and transported to the ute parked in the undercover car park.

Not the quickest way to move green waste, but when access is limited, you adapt and get it done.

The crew earned their knock-off on this one. 👏🌳

A little game we like to call, ‘spot the climber’……

28/05/2026

Winter weather can be tough on trees, especially if they’re already stressed or damaged. 🌳

A few signs your tree might need some attention:
• Dead or hanging branches
• Cracks in the trunk or large limbs
• Fungus or mushrooms around the base
• Trees starting to lean more than usual
• Sections of the canopy thinning or dying back

If you’ve noticed any of these around your property, it’s a good idea to get them checked before the windy winter weather sets in.

Better to catch small issues early 👍

While the climber gets the view…
the ground crew gets everything else.

🌱 Thinking about planting a tree?
Before you get started, it’s worth considering:
• How big the tree will grow over time
• How close it is to your home, fences, or other structures
• The type of roots it has (some can be more invasive than others)
• How much sun and wind the area gets

If you don’t know the answers to the above, we’re happy to chat through it with you!
Choosing the right tree for the right spot will help it thrive (and may save you some pain later on).

🌳 Tree Spotlight: Jacaranda
You’ll spot Jacarandas all over Newcastle, known for their purple blooms and standout look in the warmer months.

They’re a great feature tree, but like most, they need the right space and a bit of maintenance to keep them looking their best.

As Jacarandas grow, they can develop:
• Wide, spreading canopies
• Surface roots that can lift paths or driveways
• Ongoing leaf drop throughout the year

We love a good before and after shot on a block clearing job. This one was a bit overgrown… 👀
