I have been working on a unique house project for the past five years or so. It is now under construction. It has been an experience where it has taken more than a year to design and document it, a year to get the Council approval and two years to build it. I have designed every aspect of the house and site which has been a huge challenge but also a fabulous opportunity. The house is being built by the fabulous team at Ledbury Constructions headed by Daniel Ledbury and Todd Blatchford. The structure was designed by BG&E Engineers, the landscape by Terras Landscape, building services by Marline Newcastle and interior colours and finishes have been selected by Tanya Killen. The owners have been enthusiastic and patient which is no easy task. The house is a riot of curves and crisp minimalism overlooking Merewether beach in Newcastle.

Another beautiful church. Located about half an hour outside Copenhagen. Although it’s in the Gothic Revival style, it was completed in 1940. Beautiful blond brickwork from a local quarry.

Tonight I gave a presentation to prospective Architects at the fabulous NewSpace building. Good luck to all candidates. I encourage all graduates to work towards Registration as an architect. It’s the end goal of your education. I look forward to seeing each of you at the next Registration exams at the ARB in October.

This is how to create a spectacular living area. Frank Lloyd Wright 1939, Racine, Illinois. Built for the Johnson family of Johnson & Johnson fame. Now an international conference centre. The grounds and artworks are also lovely.
