Lismore - Please be careful
If you home has Solar your cables could still be LIVE
We all know the sun makes the panels work
We all know the power has been made safe by a Level 2 Electrician
Most of you have a PowerPoint in the switchboard
But TWO homes we worked on this week have live cables in the walls
UNLESS IT’S TURNED OFF ON THE ROOF the cables to the inverter could have up to 600 volts DC in them
PLEASE BE CAREFUL
The Fire and Rescue know about it but the bloke we spoke to just said we don’t help houses with SOLAR
If you are not sure assume it’s still LIVE

If your solar and or solar and battery system needs a health check - fixing your system is what we love to do best

Winter time really starts to put pressure on your Off Grid Solar System. At the moment 1 in 4 calls to our Customer Service Team are battery related, either the batteries are flat or the batteries are damaged. Here are a couple of points to help avoid the terrible inconvenience of losing power:

1. Make sure your generator is in good working order, the generator starting battery is often a problem here. Have the generator serviced.

2. It is important that your batteries are getting fully charged at least once a week.

3. Have your system checked and serviced ideally by your original system supplier/ installer. If your supplier is no longer available, please give us a call for the name of your nearest competent person.

A system that is not well maintained may lead to a shortened battery life, costing you more money in the long term.
