When it comes to the longevity and performance of a metal roof, one of the most fundamental—but often overlooked—factors is ensuring the installation meets the manufacturer's specifications, particularly the minimum roof pitch.
We're currently working on a project where the roof pitch is less than 1 degree, despite the existing metal profile requiring a minimum of 1 degree or more. While this may seem like a minor detail, failing to meet pitch requirements can have significant consequences. Insufficient fall can lead to water ponding, ingress issues, and ultimately, a drastically shortened roof lifespan. ⛔
Manufacturers test and engineer their profiles to perform optimally at or above specific pitches. Anything below that increases the risk of water not shedding properly—especially in heavy rain—and can void warranties and lead to costly repairs. ‼️
This is a clear reminder that attention to detail during design and installation isn't just best practice—it's essential. Ensuring your roof meets all specified requirements is key to long-term performance, reduced maintenance, and peace of mind.
At Vantage Point Roofing, we make it our mission to get these details right, so you don’t have to worry later. ✔️
