This tiny home had two mezzanines and a single ladder for access that had to be moved between them each time.

The client was struggling with climbing and moving the ladder and wanted something easier and more permanent.

Obviously in a tiny home size is a massive factor so it had to have a minimum footprint (excuse the pun!) as well as still be strong.

We came up with this design of 2 stairs leading onto a center platform (an extension of the bench), and then a fold out step/stool that leads onto the platform. This can then be used as either steps or a stool, and folds away under the platform when not in use.

A natural oil to finish it off, the wooden finish brings a nice warmth to the home and ties in the few existing wooden features well.

One of my favourite clients had a new oven installed which meant the bench had a big gap and space for stuff to drop on each side.

I cut new bench pieces to fill the tricky shaped gaps and attached them, made a front edge to fit in with the existing bench and filled all the holes and joins.

The client is somewhat handy herself so she completed the staining and nailed it!

These old weatherboards had seen better days, and had microbats living in the walls (for many generations!).

We did some research and waited until the season when they weren't nesting, and then made some quick renovations in that window of time!

All boards pre-painted - including all cut ends which often gets overlooked! ;-)

Also filled in a small strip by the rear door which had never been done.

This client is a keen gardener, but the roo's were destroying his plants every year.

First step was to raise the garden beds another level to allow more soil to be added, and then I took apart the old fence.

I put in new posts, and re-used the old timber as a top rail to keep a more rustic look. Also added a 4th side to the fence, so the vege garden is completely closed in now.

Then I wrapped the entire thing with heavy duty chicken wire and installed a gate. The vegetables should be safe now!

The front of this beautiful mudbrick house was missing a front path!

The client had piles of stone from around the property so I used them to create a slightly curved front path that fits the style of the house and garden, and looks like it's been there for years.

These old apple-crate planter boxes had done their time and were starting to fall apart and the bottoms collapse.

Made new ones using Eco-sleepers, will last a lot longer.
