Go Briza! Excited to see Westmix Concrete in lights at Bathurst next weekend!

Brian Smith is making his way to Bathurst from our South Australian Excels

Brian retired around a decade ago and in his retirement wanted to become a pilot and a racecar driver, so off he went and he bought a plane and got his race car license and then also decided to buy Hi Beam Gawler Carwash which is about an hour flight from his home town of Nhill.

At 63 years old this was the start of his racing career.

The first car he bought was a West prototype from Jam Motorsport. During his first year racing he saw the excels and loved watching 45 odd cars all similar with performance battling it out on the track. 2021 then saw Brian but an excel from Misch’s Excel Garage.

In 2022 he had some top 10 finishes and ended 11th in the championship.

By 2023 with the popularity and large grids of the excels, the SA group started running a masters category . It was a tough decision which group to run in, but at 67 Brian figured he was more than qualified for the masters!

The first round of 2023 saw a twilight round at Mallala AND it was also Brian’s birthday 🥳 and he was lucky enough to win 3 from 3!!

Next stop Bathurst!

We love supporting our local community ♥️ How good does the new carpark at the Nhill Bowling Club look 👌🏽

The latest major project undertaken by the Nhill Bowling Club committee is all but complete. The grounds committee led by Daryl Leyonhjelm and Robert Schneider have constructed a new carpark along the northern boundary of the club. The project has had the luxury of support from local business and many volunteer hours from our members.
