A view from above of one year old Gympie messmate & white mahogany trees, surrounded by 24 year old plantations, with the stunning Nimbin Rocks in the background.

These young trees were planted to replace sections of poorly performing tallowwood. The harvested timber was put to use in a range of products, including strainer posts & low quality bush poles used in creek restoration works.

The brief was character. 🌿

For this nature playground at Rainbow Ridge Steiner School in Lillian Rock, the straightest poles weren’t the ones they wanted. Super Forest Plantations supplied bush poles with natural bends and variation, giving the swings and climbing structure a shape that feels right at home among the trees.

We love seeing the character of each pole become part of a place made for play.

Red Mahogany — from tree, to log, to milled timber.

What you see here is the result of a 23-year vision — from planting and carefully managing these trees through to harvesting them for their intended purpose as quality sawlogs. A long term investment in growing quality Australian hardwood.
