☀️ IS YOUR AIR CON READY FOR ANOTHER NOOSA SUMMER? ❄️🌧️

We know, we know…

With all this rain lately, talking about sunshine and summer might seem a little optimistic!

(At this point, we're half expecting Noah to sail past asking if anyone's seen his missing pair of Royal Ibises… Apparently the bin chickens missed the boat! 🚢 )

But despite what the weather is throwing at us, one thing we know about a Sunshine Coast summer is that the heat and humidity WILL be back!

And when they arrive, your air conditioner is about to go from enjoying a relatively quiet life to working harder than a tradie on a Friday afternoon trying to knock off early! 😂

But when was the last time you had it serviced?

A little preventative maintenance now can make a big difference when the heat really kicks in.

✅ Clean filters help improve airflow and efficiency.

✅ Regular servicing helps identify potential problems before they become expensive repairs.

✅ Checking drains and system operation can help avoid nasty surprises.

✅ A well-maintained system is better prepared to keep you comfortable through summer.

The last thing you want is your air con giving up on the first 35-degree day, when everyone's ringing around desperately trying to find a tech!

A service now can help keep it running cool, efficiently and fresh throughout summer.

Whether you've got one split system or a whole house full of air conditioning, the Brasser team can help get things ready for the season ahead.

Beat the heat AND the summer service rush!

And on a serious note, to everyone dealing with the heavy rain and flooding, please stay safe. ❤️

📞 Call Brasser Electrical on 07 5391 4757 to book your pre-summer air conditioning service.

🚨 SMOKE ALARMS — IS YOUR HOME READY FOR 2027? 🏠

The clock is ticking, Noosa and the Sunshine Coast!

From 1 January 2027, all existing Queensland homes must comply with the updated smoke alarm requirements.

And before you say, "I'll get around to that eventually"… well, eventually is getting rather close! ⏰

So, what's required?

✅ Photoelectric smoke alarms that meet Australian Standards.

✅ Interconnected alarms — if one sounds, they ALL sound.

✅ Alarms installed in every bedroom.

✅ Alarms in hallways connecting bedrooms and appropriate locations on every level.

✅ Compliant hardwired or 10-year non-removable battery-powered alarms, as applicable.

Already renting out or selling your property? These requirements already apply to you!

The last thing you want is to discover your smoke alarms aren't compliant when the deadline arrives — especially when everyone else is suddenly scrambling to book an electrician!

A quick compliance check now gives you time to get everything sorted before the January rush.

At Brasser Electrical, we can assess your existing setup, advise on compliance, and carry out any necessary upgrades.

And remember, smoke alarms aren't just about ticking a compliance box — they're about protecting the people who matter most. ❤️

📞 Call Brasser Electrical on 07 5391 4757 to arrange your smoke alarm compliance check.

Tim v the View — Episode VI: Return of the View.

After a difficult viewless chapter on Hastings Street, Tim has finally found water again.

This time we’re at a major Noosa Heads renovation, and the finish line is getting very close.

Glass balustrade in.
Stairs looking sharp.
Floors going down.
Trades in final-push mode.
And a riverfront view casually sitting in the background, knowing exactly what it’s doing.

Naturally, Tim enters the property under the official banner of “checking progress” and begins drifting toward the water.

Unfortunately, site productivity had other plans — and Tim appears to wander directly into broom territory before being gently redirected back towards the actual work.

So Tim turns away, once again defeated by forces he cannot control: locked doors, retail fit-outs, and now… a bloke with a broom.

To be fair, someone has to keep him focused.

The house is coming together beautifully, the view has returned, and Tim’s ongoing battle with waterfront distractions continues.

Brasser Electrical — delivering the work, admiring the view, and occasionally being broom-guided back to productivity.

**Tim v the View — Episode V: The Beach Is the Final Frontier**

We’re back at the Hastings Street outdoor sports shop fit-out, and the transformation is really starting to take shape.

What was once a restaurant is now well on its way to becoming a fresh retail space — with display areas going in, lighting coming together, gear being unpacked, and plenty of people working hard to bring it all together.

So naturally, Tim walked in and continued his search for a view.

Sadly, there is still no water.

No river.
No ocean.
No scenic balcony reveal.

Just a very busy shop fit-out and several innocent people trying to do their jobs while Tim appears to be quietly assessing whether any of them can be recruited for an expedition to the beach.

The beach: the final frontier.

To be fair, if you’re fitting out an outdoor sports shop on Hastings Street, surely a field trip to confirm the outdoors still exists is technically research.

Final reveal coming once the space is finished.

Possible beach ending still under negotiation.

Tim v the View — Episode IV: The Search Goes On
Tim has returned to Hastings Street, which normally means one thing…
A quick progress check followed by an urgent and completely necessary search for the view.
Except this time, there’s a slight problem.
There is no view.
What there is, however, is a retail space in full transformation mode — taking shape from its previous life as a restaurant into something completely new.
The tools are out.
The fit-out is moving.
The lighting is coming together.
The space is starting to change.
And somewhere in the middle of all that progress, you can almost feel Tim quietly wondering where the water went.
Still, to his credit, he gave it the full scenic walkthrough treatment, filming it like David Attenborough had personally requested rare footage of a Hastings Street renovation.
We’ll make sure to share the final reveal once it’s finished.
And if anyone has suggestions on how we get Tim to the beach for the closing shot, we’re listening.

Tim returned to the Hastings Street ground-level unit to check progress.

Important things were happening.

✓ A sparkie was hard at work.
✓ Tools were out.
✓ The job was moving along nicely.

So, naturally, Tim walked straight past all of that to inspect the view.

Unfortunately, the door had other ideas, so instead of the full outdoor reveal, we got the slightly more mysterious “through the trees” version.

The verdict?

✓ Sparkie: working hard.
✓ Tim: conducting critical view-quality control.
✓ Site: coming along nicely.

Brasser Electrical — checking the job, appreciating the view, and remembering both are important.

Remember the chaotic house site with the cable pit and the ridiculously amazing river view?
Well, Tim went back to check how the chaos was progressing and, ah… umm…
Sorry, have you seen this day?
Blue sky, glassy river, boats sitting there like a postcard, and Tim apparently needing a solid moment to emotionally process that this is, technically, a job site.
Oh yes — the house...
Good news: the site is moving along, the rough-in is taking shape, and the cable pit appears to be slowly evolving into something slightly less terrifying.
But honestly, with a view like that, we understand why the house didn’t get camera time until the end.

Did we mention the view?

Not a bad place to be working.
Brasser Electrical — checking the rough-in, admiring the view, and occasionally remembering there’s a house involved.

Always striving to get higher.

Two A/C units going up at once, a crane operator casually controlling the whole thing from a joystick on his waist, and the rest of us pretending we’re not quietly impressed.

(Okay, we were impressed enough to video it.)

There’s something pretty satisfying about watching the right gear, the right people, and a bit of coordination come together.

Efficient lift.
Less double-handling.
More getting it done.

It’s not every day the job site comes with remote-control boss-level energy.

And yes, we did consider asking if the joystick had a turbo button.

Brasser Electrical — smarter lifts, better planning, cooler results.

Ever wondered what a beautiful finished home looks like before it becomes beautiful?

Here you go.

People everywhere, scaffolding, ducting, tools, and the cable pile no one wants to admit belongs to them.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, just like Indy emerging from the Well of Souls, Tim emerges unscathed… and walks straight out to that river view.

The finished photos are great — but this is the part most people never see.

The messy middle.
The rough-in.
The teamwork.
The organised chaos.
The “yes, believe it or not, this is all part of the plan” stage.

Not a bad day at the office… once you escape the cable pit.

Brasser Electrical — making sense of the mess before the magic happens.
