Still running your pool on winter settings?
It’s one of the most common things people forget when summer rolls around ☀️
Your pool might have looked perfectly fine through the cooler months, but warmer water, stronger sunlight and more swimming change what your system needs to do.
Here’s what we’d be checking:
1. Chlorinator running hours. Make sure they’re suitable for summer.
2. Chlorine production. Check it’s keeping up with your pool’s needs.
3. Stabiliser. Make sure there’s enough in the water to help protect your chlorine from sunlight.
One question we get is, “Do I really need stabiliser?”
Yes, it can make a big difference to how long your chlorine lasts in strong sunlight.
Just remember, the right settings and chemical levels depend on your individual pool.
Not sure where to start?
Bring a water sample into Poolside Noosa and let the professionals lead you in the right direction!

The footy season might be over, but pool season is just getting started around Noosa 🏈
And there’s one thing we see that catches pool owners out when the warmer weather arrives…
Their pool system is still running on winter settings!
As the days heat up and everyone starts swimming again, your pool needs more filtration and chlorine production to keep the water clear 💦
A system that was doing the job through winter might struggle once summer gets going 🥵
Before your first big weekend around the pool, give your chlorinator a check, make sure the cell is clean and the hours/production are turned back up! ☝🏼

Spring has sprung in Noosa, and the change in weather can have a bigger effect on your pool than you might realise.
Since the weather started heating up, we’ve seen plenty of water tests showing low chlorine levels.
The reason is simple. Stronger UV breaks chlorine down faster.
That can eventually mean cloudy water, algae growth or a green pool if the settings and chemistry haven’t been adjusted for the season.
A good place to start is checking your chlorinator output or pump running hours and making sure the water has enough stabiliser.
Stabiliser is basically sunscreen for your chlorine. It helps protect it from the harsher UV.

Spring is here! Time to get your water tested and pool ready for the upcoming swim season! ☀️ If there is no stabiliser in your pool the sun will start to eat away the chlorine! Get in quick so we can tell you what you need!
