Our team is loving finding creative ways to breathe new life into this beautiful Queenslander in Kalinga. This home has seen many renovations and additions over the years, so our focus has been on creating a cohesive feel across both the interior and exterior.

We have opted to paint the house entirely white and add iconic plantation shutters to modernise the look while still preserving its original character and charm.

Construction is powering ahead at our Queenslander renovation project in Bardon!

MWH Constructions has been making major progress on site. With the slab now poured, we’re gearing up for the framing to go up next. There’s always something exciting about this stage, when the structure starts to take shape and the rooms begin to reveal themselves.

We can’t wait to see the spaces come together and watch the full vision for this home unfold over the coming months. 🏡

The detailed design phase is well underway for this new house in St Lucia ✨🌿

One of the hero features of this home is the double-height space over the outdoor entertaining area. The generous vertical scale enhances natural light, airflow and spatial connection, creating an outdoor room that feels open, refined and effortlessly spacious. Elevated planter boxes introduce cascading greenery from above, softening the facade and drawing the landscape into the home.

We're excited to continue refining this design and bringing it to life!

Our team is in the process of developing an interiors package for a Queenslander renovation project in Kalinga. We are using carefully considered fixtures, finishes and joinery to seamlessly integrate the new works with the existing home. This approach helps resolve previously disjointed spaces and establishes a clear, consistent design language throughout. The result is a cohesive, functional home that reflects the owners’ lifestyle and delivers a unified architectural and interior identity.

Our architecture team has kicked off a new project in Toowoomba, starting with the most important first step in any Queenslander renovation — accurately documenting the existing house.

We’re proud to be working on the historic Horton House, originally built in 1889 for the Cameron family and set on one of Toowoomba’s most remarkable sites with sweeping views and an unbeatable aspect. Horton House was bought by the Salvation Army in 1945 and went on to support the community for decades.

With detailed measurements and drawings now underway, our team is eager to begin shaping concept designs that honour the home’s heritage while embracing the potential of this exceptional site.

Early in the design process we focus on what matters most to our client and the key drivers that will shape their future home. We are currently developing this concept for a calm green haven, grounded in the steep natural slope of the site, that feels anchored while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding landscape and the golf course across the road. From its elevated position, the home will open out towards the greenery, mature trees, and fairways, framing these views as part of the everyday experience. Large openings, outdoor living areas, and layered gardens will dissolve the threshold between inside and outside, drawing natural light, breezes, and the character of the landscape deep into the home. 🌳🍃💚

We created this interiors palette for a client who wanted a modern Hamptons aesthetic with a refined and timeless feel. Our idea was to create interest through texture rather than colour, layering shades of soft whites, warm oak timber elements, and brushed nickel fixtures. The hero moments come through in the Carrara benchtops, profiled cabinetry doors and the subtle contrast of materials that bring depth and warmth to the space. 🤍

We designed this 21-unit apartment development in Rockhampton to feel welcoming from the very first glance and to be a thoughtful addition to the city’s evolving urban landscape and community. Warm timber tones, natural stone textures and cascading greenery soften the clean architectural lines, creating a sense of calm and connection to nature within an urban context.

The project is currently awaiting development approval and we cannot wait to get cracking on the detailed design!

Parliament House is one of Brisbane's best known landmarks and was constructed in 1867 by Petrie. It was designed with a French Renaissance style facade, bespoke stone and timber work and ornately decorated rooms with purpose-made furniture by Petrie. The building was designed to suit the subtropical climate with numerous colonnades to protect the inner rooms from the sun, keeping the building cool in summer.

As a testament to the quality of work by Petrie, we have been engaged by the Queensland Government on four separate occasions to construct different sections of Parliament House including the original building in 1867-68, the northern colonnade in 1880, the Alice Street wing in 1889, and 100 years later in 1980 to construct the front porte cochere.

Fun fact 💡: Much of the furniture made by Petrie in the 1860s is still in use today, including the desks for the Speaker and President in the chambers.
