Manor Red and Heritage Homes go together like a Meat Pie & Tomato Sauce. 🥧❤️

And this one has some Heritage....
This property forms part of the locally heritage-listed Wilson Street buildings, officially recognised as Shop and Two Dwellings.

📜 These buildings have been considered worthy of preservation for decades.
Way back in 1982, a preservation order was placed over them, with the Albury & District Historical Society advocating for their protection.

🐎 And Wilson Street itself has some serious history.
In 1859, it formed part of the old Sydney Road route through Albury, carrying traffic through town towards the Murray River crossing.

We love projects like this. Keeping the character that makes these old homes special, while giving them a roof that's ready for plenty more years ahead.

And seriously… Manor Red was made for this. 👌

Her patience, knowledge and genuine care for our customers never goes unnoticed. If you've ever thought, "Wow, they were so lovely to deal with," there's a very good chance Anita had something to do with it.

Just like Daniel-san was a great apprentice to Mr. Miyagi, we have a great apprentice in our Maintenance Team too.

Yesterday was Daniel's birthday, so today the crew headed out for a well-earned Friday pub lunch to celebrate.

Some weeks in roofing really test you...

🌧️ Days spent working in the rain.
💨 Wind blowing straight through your jacket.
🏠 Emergency leaks.
😬 And yes... sometimes being on the receiving end of a few frustrated words when the weather gets the better of everyone's roofs.

Then, just before the week wraps up, a message like this lands in our inbox...
"Been meaning to send you this before & after we took. Looks fabulous, we were very happy with all the guys, the service provided and the result... thank you!"

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do!

To the whole LJ Ellery Team (Trade and Office), thank you for turning up, no matter what the weather throws at you or what's said over the phone !

❄️ Winter Condensation Warning ❄️

Foggy mornings. Frost on the grass. The sun barely making an appearance.

It's officially condensation season.

Many homeowners assume water dripping from ceilings, damp insulation, mould growth or water stains must mean their roof is leaking.
But during winter, condensation is often the real culprit....

As warm, moisture laden air from inside your home rises and meets the cold underside of your roof, water droplets form
(just like the outside of a cold drink on a hot day)

Common signs of condensation:
💧 Water droplets on roof sheets or insulation
💧 Damp ceilings or cornices
💧 Musty smells and mould growth
💧 Wet insulation losing its effectiveness
💧 "Roof leaks" that appear even when it doesn't rain 🤔

The good news?
Condensation can often be treated and or even better prevented with the right combination of:
✔️ Roof ventilation
✔️ Anticon blanket insulation
✔️ Ceiling insulation
✔️ Proper airflow through the roof space

With the new NCC requirements placing a stronger focus on condensation management, it's becoming one of the biggest issues we see in existing homes.
