🏅 Certificate of Professional Excellence (Commercial Construction $60M plus category)! 🏅

Congratulations to Shane Young and his Cannington and Oats Street Stations Project team members on their success at the 2026 National Professional Excellence in Building Awards.

Shane and the team were recognised by the Australian Institute of Building for their professionalism on this high-quality infrastructure project. 🏗️

Delivered as part of METRONET's Level Crossing Removal Program, the project created two modern elevated stations featuring new platforms, concourses, lifts, escalators and improved accessibility for passengers. 🚆

Built within busy suburban communities and alongside live rail infrastructure, the project required careful planning, innovative construction methods and strong collaboration across multiple project teams.

The result is safer, more accessible and better-connected transport infrastructure that will benefit commuters and local communities for years to come.

Well-deserved recognition. 👏

🏊‍♀️ Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre 🏊‍♂️

From Olympic-sized ambition to community connection, Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre is helping shape the future of aquatic infrastructure in Sydney.

As the largest aquatic complex built in Sydney since the 2000 Olympic Games, the centre combines innovative engineering, sustainability and community-focused design to create a facility that will serve generations to come. 🌿

Delivered for the city of Sydney, Gunyama Park features Australia's longest free-spanning 36-metre glulam beams, a translucent ETFE roof that floods the pool hall with natural light, and a range of sustainable initiatives including stormwater harvesting and a 420-panel solar array. ☀️💧

More than just a place to swim, the award-winning facility includes competition and leisure pools, hydrotherapy facilities, a gym, sports field and community spaces, creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to connect, move and thrive.

A fantastic example of how innovative construction can deliver lasting benefits for both people and the environment. 💙

Looking back on this year's NAIDOC theme of '50 Years Deadly' with heartfelt gratitude to Professor Aunty Lyn Riley AO, proud Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi woman and Co-Chair of the National NAIDOC Committee. 💛🖤❤️

As our guest speaker, Aunty Lyn emphasised that allyship is built on connection: getting to know the Country, cultures and communities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
'For me, allyship is like a spider's web - you start here and it trickles out until the web is huge. It's very hard to break once it's there.'

Fellow National NAIDOC Committee member Sharon Gray - also our Indigenous Engagement and Social Inclusion Senior Manager - hosted the yarn with Aunty Lyn, sharing her own story and treasured NAIDOC memories.

🎥 Watch the video to hear Aunty Lyn speak on the connections that bring us together.

⚡🚧 Big machine. Smaller footprint.

A 250-tonne electric crawler crane has arrived at Heatherton West to support major tunnel works on our Suburban Rail Loop East project.

The crane is expected to save around 9,000 litres of diesel during its period of use, while reducing noise and eliminating diesel exhaust fumes on site. 💪

And it's just one of many ways we're using cleaner technology across the project. 🔋✅

Progress continues across HumeLink West as the energy transition takes shape on the ground.⚡

From conductor stringing now underway near Wagga Wagga, to tower construction advancing, and substations at Maragle and Gugaa reaching key milestones, safety-led delivery is driving visible progress across the project. ✅

We were pleased to welcome NSW Minister for Energy, Penny Sharpe MLC to site. The visit reflected growing interest in the project's progress and role in supporting Australia's energy transition.

It’s fantastic to see our teams and partners turning complex infrastructure into real outcomes — supporting renewable energy, strengthening the grid, and helping power the future.

Delivered through a joint venture between CIMIC Group companies CPB Contractors and UGL for Transgrid, HumeLink West is playing a critical role in reshaping how energy flows across the National Electricity Market.

More to come as we continue to build what’s next 💪🔌

🏆✈️ Western Sydney International Airport has been recognised as a finalist in the 2026 Australian Construction Achievement Awards, recognising the combined delivery of its Airside Civil & Pavement (ACP) and Terminal Specialty Services (TSS) packages.

The finalist recognition acknowledges the combined delivery of WSI's ACP delivered in JV with ACCIONA and TSS (Multiplex) packages, which together have brought Australia's first major international greenfield airport in more than 50 years to life.
