🌱☘️🌿Viking Lawncare & Irrigation 🌱☘️🌿is currently seeking a dependable and motivated laborer to assist with a short-term irrigation installation project. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride in doing the job right. You will get extensive experience, and a reference will be provided at the end of employment. At Viking Irrigation, we take pride in our work and go that extra mile for our customers.

📅 Job Details
Duration: Approximately till the end of the year
Hours: Up to 25 hours per week (flexible scheduling may be available)
Location: Kilsyth worksite; business based in Warrandyte
Start Date: ASAP

# # # # 🚗 Transport
Applicants must arrange their own transportation to and from the worksite unless residing between Warrandyte and Kilsyth Melbourne.

💵 Wages & Payment
You will be paid weekly at a base rate of $35 per hour.
Depending on your performance, attitude, and efficiency on the first day, there may be an opportunity to increase your rate up to $40 per hour for the remainder of the project.
This role rewards reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic — if you show you're up for it, you'll be compensated accordingly.

# # # # 📋 Requirements
- Must hold a valid **Australian Business Number (ABN)**
- Prior experience in landscaping, irrigation, or general laboring is preferred but not essential
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with attention to detail

# # # # 🛠️ Role Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation of irrigation systems
- Laying PVC piping and cleaning out trenches
- General site preparation and cleanup
- Supporting the team with other tasks as required

I’ve been given the chance to work at a stunning property nestled in the beautiful Yarra Ranges.

The client had some power cables installed a while back and accidentally hit a PVC pipe, which they capped off. After some time, they tried using their irrigation system but noticed a significant drop in pressure. That’s when they reached out to me.

The plan is to locate the pipe using a pipe locator (since hand digging would be like searching for a needle in a haystack), fix the blockage, and ensure each zone is functioning properly. I’ll focus on the gardens first, then move on to the lawns, repairing anything that needs attention along the way.
Time to complete: 1 month (weather depending) Winter in Victoria is not how I remembered it, Wet, cold and Bitter with a hint of beauty. More to come .........
