⚡🐜 “Why does the power keep tripping?” … not exactly the words you want to hear when the answer is TERMITES 😬

This photo was taken inside a power point after the customer called an electrician to troubleshoot a constantly tripping power board. What looked like an electrical fault turned into something much bigger… termite workings INSIDE the outlet.

The scary part? The warning signs had been missed after a few years without termite inspections 🏚️🐜

What followed was a very expensive chain reaction:
🔌 Electrician to investigate & make safe
🐜 Full termite inspection
🛑 Termite treatment
🔧 Electrician back to reconnect
🪵 Repairs to damaged timbers
🎨 Repainting
🛡️ Ongoing termite protection

All of this from termites silently working behind the walls.

Termites don’t take years off… and unfortunately neither should your inspections 😅

Regular termite inspections can catch activity early before the damage — and the bills — spiral out of control.

📞 Don’t wait until your house starts giving electrical symptoms.
Get your inspections done!

High Moisture = High Risk

When we detect high moisture in a structure, it’s never something to ignore.
It could be:
🚰 A leaking water pipe
🚿 Failing waterproofing (yes, even in new homes)
🪱 Or a sign of active termites

Moisture attracts termites — and if left unchecked, the damage can be extensive and expensive.

🏡 Don’t leave it to chance.
✅ Book regular termite inspections
✅ Investigate high moisture readings
✅ Protect your home before it becomes a costly fix

Even the smallest issue can be the start of something serious.

Termite Inspections Are Only as Good as the Action Taken

We’ve been inspecting this property for several years, and our advice has always been the same:
Remove the timber touching the ground.

Unfortunately, recommendations mean nothing if they’re not followed.
We can inspect, report, and advise — but we’re not miracle workers.

This one simple fix could have been the difference between a termite-free home and an expensive termite treatment.

✅ If your report says to remove timber in contact with the soil — do it.
✅ Maintenance is part of prevention.
✅ Termites don’t take breaks — and neither should your vigilance.

Protect your home. Follow the recommendations.

2 Hidden Nests & a Fire Ant Trail Between

When we say fire ants are a serious threat — this is what we mean.

🪤 Two nests and an active trail were discovered beneath this container, completely hidden from sight. Fortunately, we had treated the area one week earlier with Advion Fire Ant Bait — and the result?

✅ Very little movement in the nests
✅ Treatment BEFORE the container was lifted
✅ Reducing the risk of spreading fire ants to North Queensland

These nests could have travelled hundreds of kilometres, unnoticed.
But thanks to proactive planning, treatment, and inspection, they weren't going anywhere

Fire ants are sneaky. Don’t assume you’re in the clear — treat first, move later.

Fire Ant Nest Found Under the Container

This photo shows exactly why compliance is critical.

🔥 As the container was lifted, we discovered a fire ant nest had formed up and underneath the base. Completely hidden — and it could have easily been transported to North Queensland if proper steps weren’t taken.

This is how fire ants spread.
This is why every container, every move, every treatment matters.

We don’t take shortcuts — and neither should you.

✅ Fumigated
✅ Inspected

Another Step in the Process: Fumigation

When it comes to moving containers out of a fire ant zone — we don’t take any chances.

As part of our multi-step compliance approach, fumigation was carried out to ensure no hidden pests were making the trip to North Queensland. This is more than just a precaution — it’s part of our commitment to doing things properly and protecting our environment.

💡 Every step counts when preventing the spread of invasive species like fire ants.

If you’re moving freight, soil, or machinery — don’t risk being the link in the chain that spreads a pest.

Talk to the experts first.

Collaborating for Compliance: Fire Ant Risk Management in Action

We recently assisted with the treatment and relocation of two shipping containers from Fire Ant Biosecurity Zone 2 to North Queensland — with the fire ant team directly involved throughout the process.

This wasn’t just about moving containers.
It was about:
✅ Protecting our environment
✅ Following legal obligations
✅ Supporting the training of Biosecurity Compliance Officers

We’re proud to contribute our expertise to real-world compliance solutions and be part of the broader effort to stop the spread of fire ants across Queensland.

If you move soil, freight, or equipment out of a fire ant zone — make sure you’re not putting North Queensland at risk.

What Did We Find Under the Container?

As the shipping container was lifted, a fire ant nest was uncovered right underneath — hidden in plain sight on the ground below.

🚫 Had this container been moved without the proper preparations, fire ants would have been unknowingly transported to North Queensland — an outcome that could have serious environmental and legal consequences.

This is exactly why compliance matters.
This is why prevention is key.
And this is why we do more than just tick boxes.

✅ If you’re moving shipping containers, equipment, or materials from a fire ant zone — get expert help first.

Preventing the Spread of Fire Ants – Before the Move

Before relocating shipping containers from Fire Ant Biosecurity Zone 2 to North Queensland, we carried out a critical step: treating around the newly laid concrete pad. This proactive measure is part of a thorough compliance process to ensure fire ants aren’t accidentally transported with equipment or freight.

🔥 Fire ants are not only a serious biosecurity threat — it is an offence to move them.

Our team took multiple steps to prevent any chance of infestation making the journey north. Prevention is always better than trying to fix a costly mistake.

🚛 Do you transport mining equipment, containers, or earthmoving gear out of a fire ant zone?

Don’t risk it. The damage to North Queensland’s environment, agriculture, and reputation isn’t worth the shortcut.

✅ Follow the correct compliance steps.
✅ Speak to experts before you move.
