Something a little different on this one.

The curved brick wall on this design will be a real feature once the home is complete. It’s always nice to work on something that steps away from the standard square lines.

Not every crew can say the boss is still out there on the tools teaching the next generation, after 27 years 👊

27+ years working with one of Queensland’s biggest builders doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from experience, high standards, consistency and never cutting corners.

At BFS we’ve got skilled concreters, a solid crew culture and we still make time to teach the younger workers the right way to do things. That knowledge matters. The industry only stays strong if experienced tradies are willing to pass it on.

At Bayside Footings & Slabs, we’re proud of the reputation we’ve built over decades in the industry working alongside one of Queensland’s largest and most respected builders.

This industry is built on experience, standards and teamwork — and that’s exactly what BFS stands for.

We have consistent, ongoing work for the right person — this is not stop-start work.

✔ Experience in pod slabs

✔ Reliable — turns up, gets it done

✔ Hard working with a good attitude

✔ Team player — we back each other and help each other out when we have multiple crews in the one estate

✔ Driver’s licence + reliable vehicle (jobs from Park Ridge to Morayfield)

To this legend …. Jim McCormack 🍻

If we’re honest… it feels pretty big.

Over 30 years with BFS in one way or another — that’s not just time, that’s a lifetime of early mornings, long days, and doing the job properly, every single time.

Back in 1999, Jim & Donna, alongside partners Richard & Cathy, gave Andrew a start in concreting. One small opportunity that turned into something so much bigger than any of us could’ve imagined.

Jim had already been part of the backbone of BFS long before that — working alongside Richard, stepping into partnership and helping build the business into what it is today.

Fast forward to 2020, when Andrew and I stepped into partnership with Jim & Donna, and not long after took over the business. Which only happened because Jim and Donna trusted us to carry it forward… and that’s something we’ll never take lightly.

And even then — Jim didn’t just walk away.

For the past 3 years, Jim’s been contracting to us — no fuss. No big speeches. Turning up and getting it done.

He’s not just been part of BFS — he’s been a massive part of why it is what it is.

And while today was his last day on site and in the office … it’s not really goodbye. It’s just time for him to slow things down a bit and enjoy what’s next — which, let’s be honest, he’s more than earned.

Jim and Donna — Andrew and I are so, so thankful to you. For the start you gave Andrew, for the trust and friendship along the way, and for everything you’ve put into us and this business over the years.

We’ll take care of what you’ve built — and we’ll take it even further.

You’ll always be part of BFS, our friends.
